It can deliver more current to a user (fold back is around 5.5 amps). The cooling capacity is enhanced. It is capable of 5500 cubic feet per minute (CPM), which is 10% higher than the ES1500i. This is accomplished via the cooling fan and the enhanced airflow from the larger enclosure.

The ES8000i still maintains a lower voltage; the increase in current flow to the user is facilitated by adding more electrolyte (salt). (For professional use) Note that the ES1500i will shut down as part of the user protection if you try to increase the current by adding more salt.
